Homelessness has long been an interest of mine. I have volunteered in projects to meet the needs of homeless individuals in both North America and Africa. I admittedly find it distressing to see my neighbours living this way, thus when I found out about Medicine Hat, Alberta achieving functional zero with their homeless population, I wanted to learn how this was done.
